Targeted specialist correction for brow SPMU that has faded, migrated, or lost definition — delivered by Obsidian's experienced practitioners with full assessment and honest outcomes.
Remedial brow work is a dedicated specialist service for clients whose existing brow SPMU — microblading, powder brows, or combination brows — has healed in an unsatisfactory way or has changed over time in ways that are difficult to manage cosmetically. It differs from general SPMU correction in that it focuses specifically on the brow: the shape, the stroke quality, the pigment tone, and the symmetry, rather than being a broad correction across multiple treatment areas.
The range of issues that remedial brow work addresses is wide. Strokes may have blurred and lost individual definition as the skin has healed. The pigment may have faded to an ashy, cool, or unnatural tone. One brow may have healed differently from the other, creating visible asymmetry. The original shape may not suit the client's face as expected, or the tail may have migrated. In each case, Obsidian's practitioner takes time to assess exactly what is present, what is driving the problem, and what is realistically achievable through targeted correction.
Every remedial case begins with a thorough in-person consultation, photographic assessment, and an open conversation about realistic outcomes. Remedial brow work is frequently achievable without requiring full removal first — but where removal would significantly improve the final result, this is advised clearly and as part of a planned programme. Sessions are available at both our Glasgow and Edinburgh clinics.
A detailed in-person assessment examines the existing brow SPMU — pigment colour, depth, stroke quality, symmetry, and shape. Photographs are taken and the correction approach is discussed.
Based on the assessment, a bespoke correction plan is developed. This may include colour neutralisation, shape re-mapping, removal preparation, or a combination of these approaches.
Correction work is applied in targeted sessions, each building on the previous to refine the brow result. The number of sessions required is determined by the complexity of the case.
Healing is assessed between sessions and after the final application. A review appointment confirms the result is satisfactory before the case is closed.
Remedial brow work covers any situation where existing brow SPMU — microblading, powder brows, or combination brows — has not healed to a satisfactory result, has changed over time, or requires targeted correction. Common presentations include strokes that have blurred or faded unevenly, brows that have healed asymmetrically, pigment that has shifted colour (grey, blue, orange), or a shape that no longer suits the client's face.
Not necessarily. Where the existing pigment has faded enough to allow direct correction, we will attempt to correct without removal. Where the pigment is too saturated or discoloured to work over effectively, a programme of saline removal sessions first significantly improves the outcome. We will advise clearly at consultation which approach is most appropriate for your specific case.
The number of sessions depends entirely on the complexity of the case. Simple colour or shape corrections may be achievable in one to two sessions. Cases requiring multiple removal sessions followed by re-pigmentation may span 6–12 months. Your practitioner will provide a realistic timeline and session estimate at your initial consultation.
We will work to restore a natural, flattering brow colour, but exact matching of a previous pigment colour is not always possible — particularly where the existing pigment has shifted significantly in tone. The goal is always a beautiful, natural result that suits your skin tone and features, rather than an exact reproduction of the original.
