What to Expect

Your comfort, safety and satisfaction are at the heart of every appointment at Obsidian Clinics Edinburgh. Here's what your lip filler journey looks like from start to finish.

1. Consultation & Lip Assessment

   We discuss your aesthetic goals, review your medical history, and assess your lip anatomy and facial proportions to design a bespoke treatment plan. No obligation — your informed consent always comes first.

2. Preparation & Numbing

   A topical numbing cream is applied to ensure maximum comfort throughout the procedure. Many of our fillers also contain lidocaine to further minimise any discomfort during injection.

3. Precise Filler Placement

   Using expert technique and ultra-fine needles, filler is carefully placed to add volume, define the cupid's bow, and enhance overall lip shape — following the treatment plan agreed at consultation.

4. First Results & Settling Period

   You may experience mild swelling or bruising for 24–72 hours — this is completely normal. Avoid strenuous exercise and extreme heat for 24 hours. Final results are visible once swelling subsides, typically within one week.

5. Complimentary 2-Week Review

   We schedule a complimentary review at two weeks to assess your result and perform any minor adjustments if needed. This is the ideal time to evaluate the final outcome. Future top-up treatments are typically needed every 6–12 months.
